5 Quick Questions with...

Jalen Rose

Why You Should Care: He was one of the Fab Five, and now covers the hoopy de hoops for ESPN.

You were a player during the '98 NBA lockout. Do you think players today are aware of the impact the economic downturn is going to have on the NBA over the next few years, including a new bargaining agreement in 2011? I think the players are very educated and understand what's at stake on both sides. I just hope this does not get UGLY, where neither side wins.

What's the best NBA city to visit? There is no way to have just one! My favorite NBA cities are Detroit, Los Angeles, New York, Miami and Toronto.

What have you learned watching from the studio you wish you could have told Jalen Rose the player? Well, I was lucky and blessed that during my 13 year playing career ('94-'07), I simultaneously had a six year ('01-'07) media career. It was the best of both worlds!

If you were in LeBron's shoes what would you do regarding staying in Cleveland or leaving?
If I were LBJ, I would play my entire career with the Cavs and hope to bring a few titles to Cleveland.

Who is going to take the title this year? The Lakers are the best team in the league, but that's why they play the games...stay tuned! -- Scotty Walker

Three From the Wire

Hey Frenchie! The Francophile Edition of Tois du le Wire

We still believe in Mike Wallace going forward--otherwise, last week's recommendations are best forgotten. Our picks put up 53 yards between the three of them, and 26 of those were return yards.  Sacre Bleu!  As an offering to the Gods of Panty-Waisted Failure, we present the "All-Frenchie Edition of Three From the Wire."

1) Pierre Garcon (43% owned), WR, Colts -- Had drops againt Pats, but he got his share of targets to go along with 50 yards and a TD. Peyton Manning walks on football water. We can, in good conscience, recommend anyone within 100 yards of him.

2) Devery Henderson (50% owned), WR, Saints -- Averaging slightly better than 50 yards a week.  The points may not be copious, but they're reliable, and particularly attractive against porous secondaries for the next three weeks (TB, NE, WAS).  "Where's the Frenchie," you ask? Fleur de Lys baby, Fleur de-frickin' Lys.

3) David Garrard (58% owned), QB, Jags -- In the overall Fantasy QB point rankings, Garrard (say it like Pepe Le Pew) is sandwiched between Matt Ryan (90% owned) and Donovan McNabb (94%). Why is there still solid chance he's on your wire? We don't know. Especially at home against the Bills. All four starters in the Buffalo secondary didn't start opening day, and the Bills just fired their head coach. Garrard looks good like croissants and brie.-- Zevon Odelberg
